Ridiculous

Sometimes I think people are completely incapable of empathizing. Is it that hard to remember being a kid? And even more importantly, to remember that experience is the best teacher. And yet we get people trying to things like this. It just blows my mind. Newsflash, people: kids will find a way to get hurt, no matter what rules you may impose. Trying to prevent them from enjoying themselves during the few moments during the day they have relatively free will create more problems than it will solve, specifically, a lot of unhappy, resentful children.

Speaking from experience (I've been hurt many times on the playground), I would rather keep those few painful or embarrassing memories rather than trade an enjoyable, active youth for a little "safety." Are they trying to exacerbate the obesity problem in this country?
