The Dems won the House!
The Dems won the Senate!
Rummy's out!
Whew, okay. Anyways.

This past weekend we drove down to Clarksville, although we didn't have much time there. I got to see my grandparents and spend some time with my parents. And, of course, did the laundry. We also gathered persimmons at my grandparents' house and ground out the pulp. There is really not much that looks more disgusting, to be honest. =) But once the pulp is baked into persimmon pudding, it really just doesn't get much better. It has a sweet, tart taste. So sad that no one outside of southern Indiana appears to have even heard of it! Grandma's secret recipe is really the key. I'm going to make some for the Thanksgiving pitch-in at work, and also for Thanksgiving with Mark's parents. I also want to give Joan some pulp, because she hasn't been able to find persimmons up in Michigan, and I thought she might enjoy some to experiment with. That will leave two cups for me to make...er, something or other. Persimmon cookies? Persimmon FUDGE!!???! =D

Running has been going really well lately. I've been fairly consistent, getting out for 30-45 minutes on average, even though the weather's been nasty. I even did a track workout last week (1600, 1600, 800, 400, 400 for a total of three miles). Not terribly fast or anything, but it felt good. Now I just need to keep it up.
