Who am I kidding?

I'm going for it. I mean, really...how can I not go for it (see quote in my blog header)?

A. BQ! (3:40:59, and I expect I will need every bit of that extra 59 seconds)
B. Anything 3:xx (was my original goal back in January)
C. Finish (seriously, you never know)
D. The obligatory "have fun" goal, so that no matter what happens, I'll be able to meet at least one goal. Until it just genuinely sucks, in which case...well, it will just suck. :)

I don't think I'll truly know how this will all go down until about 6:08 or 6:09 a.m. on Saturday morning. I'll just have to see how I feel when I start running, and go from there. But so far, everything about the taper has gone perfectly. The weather appears to still be mostly on my side (storms/showers overnight, ending around race time, partly cloudy after that, 63 degrees; only reservation is that humidity looks to be a bit high, but should drop later in the morning). Training was not flawless, but honestly it was about as good as one could expect. Prep races were extremely encouraging. Could the stars be aligning...?

In case I don't have a chance to post again before the race, I want to thank you all again for your comments and awesome encouragement this winter/spring. I'm still amazed that anyone finds these ramblings intelligible or interesting. :) But I'm sure glad you all are there!

Good luck! I'll be cheering you on. See how you are feeling and then decide if you can BQ - good idea. Either way, set a great PR. The BQ will come in time no matter what!
