I still don't know if I'm getting tomorrow off, but I'm guessing I don't, because there is a fireworks show at Lake Storey. That's all right though--that's the kind of thing I like doing. In fact, since Terry's friend will be in town, maybe he'd just let me cover it on my own. With story and photographs, I could make a cool few bucks out of the deal. With that plus possibly the Jerry Wood feature in next week's issue, I should do pretty well. The week after is going to have an eight-page pull-out section, but I don't know how much I'll be able to write on that because I'll be gone from the Thursday morning before the deadline.
It's hard to believe that in a week's time I'll be on a train, headed to Michigan. I've gotten so settled into my routine here that doing anything wildly different seems almost impossible. But at the same time, obviously, I can't wait to see Mark. It'll be weird...since we've been together, this is by far the longest amount of time spent apart, almost twice as long, in fact. I really need to stop by the train station and pick up my ticket so I'll have it in advance. Not sure if this is completely necessary, but I feel like I should have it in hand when I arrive at the station in the morning. I made the reservation online, so it's paid for.
Tomorrow morning I'm doing that race--perhaps I could get photographs of that too. Mwa-hahaha...I will be rich! Or...well...you know...=P
