Ah, Friday. Payday. Jeans day. The paycheck in my hand makes me feel a little better about the money I spent last night on "organizational devices" at Target. And more to come, most likely. Mark and I have a couple more ideas for conserving space. Of course, this means spending more money, but for me at least it's worth it have a cleaner, less cluttered apartment. We don't have much to do this weekend (other than a holiday party on Saturday night), so I think most of the time will be spent rearranging and reorganizing. We'll take the recycling down, which includes two full grocery bags stuffed full of DVD cases, and a case of paper I got free from work. It's pretty, resume-style paper, but there's simply no way I'm going to use it all, ever. So I'll keep a few reams and see about getting rid of it. I think the recycling center has a small area for reusable items that people in need can take; perhaps I could donate the paper to that. I hate to simply throw it away, even if it is being recycled. We're also not sure if they'll take DVD cases. I guess we'll find out. As long as they're somewhere besides my apartment, I'll be happy.
Of course, we're simply doomed to be cramped until we move this summer (whether it be within Bloomington or somewhere else). But alleviating it even a little will make the next seven or eight months much better.
