But I've certainly seen worse. My first start date is tomorrow (Indiana University) and everything that was submitted reasonably long enough ago is into production and should be ready tomorrow. All those students will get their books on the first day of classes (and some already have them, I'm sure). I'm sure they're rejoicing as I speak...
University of Illinois starts a week from Tuesday, but already I've submitted...I don't know, a couple million impressions (pages). And we're ahead of last year. I was actually caught up when I left work today. It's amazing! So things are looking good at work.
The running week went really well, also. I love my GPS, but I've been having a little trouble lately keeping it fed. I'm using rechargeable batteries, and I guess you have to charge those before you use them? Because one pair lasted 5.5 minutes before shutting off, and the other pair lasted about 3. The first pair, which my dad gave me, lasted a few hours. I've got a mostly charged pair in it now, so hopefully that will give me a better idea of how long I can expect this thing to last on one pair of batteries. It would be nice to expect enough time for a marathon (guess I'll have to run it faster). But anyways, I ran 6 out of 7 days for a total of 25.5. Keeping a log on Cool Running is great, but the site has been acting screwy and not letting me log in all weekend. I hope they get it straightened out tomorrow. If I can keep up this kind of consistency for another 20 weeks, I think I'll very well-prepared for Bayshore! Also, if I can just keep it up for TWO more weeks, I'll go into the Snowman Shuffle decently well-prepared, unlike any other race I've done lately. I feel like it's been a long time since I've trained consistently enough to really run as hard as I'd like, but I think this year is going to be different. I can't wait to see what the coming season brings.
